The Super Bowl is the biggest advertising stage in the world and has given us a night full of spectacular insights that will make every movie fan's heart beat faster. The football game between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots (final score: 29:13) almost becomes a minor matter. Hollywood has brought out the big guns and is already providing plenty to talk about. From the long-awaited return to a galaxy far, far away to the next level of the plumber adventure to a dark new beginning in the DC universe, everything was there. The projects on show impressively prove that we are in for some tremendous cinema experiences.

Finally in the cinema: The Mandalorian and Grogu

One of the absolute highlights is undoubtedly the leap of Din Djarin and his protégé to the big screen in "Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu". Jon Favreau is not just staging an extended episode of the series, but a visually stunning epic that combines the familiar and beloved dynamic of the two characters with the power of big blockbuster cinema.

Supergirl: tougher than ever before

At the same time, the new DC universe opens a completely new, visually intoxicating chapter with "Supergirl". Based on the acclaimed original by Tom King, we don't get a classic radiant heroine here, but a hardened warrior who has to survive on a dying fragment of Krypton - a sci-fi adventure that is tonally refreshing and significantly tougher than anything we've seen from the Man of Steel before. And: we finally get to see Jason Momoa as bounty hunter Lobo: what more could you want?

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie: the next box office success is certain

In the animation sector, too, there's no shortage of work, and the anticipation could hardly be greater. With the "Super Mario Galaxy Movie", Nintendo is venturing into the infinite expanses of space and promises to defy the laws of gravity just as creatively as in the legendary video game, including the introduction of fan favorites such as Rosalina, Yoshi and Baby Mario!

Minions 3: Minions & Monsters

Meanwhile, Illumination turns the tables completely and sends its yellow chaotic creatures into a wonderfully creepy setting in "Minions & Monsters", which mixes classic horror with typical, anarchic slapstick. The Minions want to make a monster movie, but they don't have the leading actors. So they conjure up a little Cthulhu of their own and set off on a journey to get some more. Fun chaos is pre-programmed in "Minions 3"!

Hoppers: Pixar delivers once again

Pixar also contributes an absolute novelty with "Hoppers", delivering a wonderfully quirky body-swap story in which a girl transfers her consciousness into a robotic beaver to infiltrate the animal world - an original concept that once again promises heart and intelligent humor.

Project Hail Mary: Crazy alien adventure in space

"Project Hail Mary " presents Ryan Gosling: He returns to space - and has no idea why! In the hotly anticipated film adaptation of the global bestseller, he wakes up alone on a spaceship and - incidentally - has to save humanity without remembering his own name at first. The trailer promises what is probably the cleverest sci-fi blockbuster of the year, combining nerve-wracking survival suspense à la "The Martian" with a large portion of heart and humor.

Disclosure Day

Steven Spielberg finally returns to his roots and delivers what we've been waiting for since "War of the Worlds" : a big UFO blockbuster. Contrary to expectations, the movie is not about a political data leak, but about the ultimate revelation - the existence of extraterrestrial life. At the center of "Disclosure Day" is Emily Blunt as a TV meteorologist who suffers a mysterious seizure during a live broadcast and begins to speak in an alien language. At the same time, we see Josh O'Connor as a whistleblower who tries to reveal the "full truth" to humanity.

Scream 7, The Devil Wears Prada 2 & Michael

In addition to these brand new revelations, the studios also used the enormous reach to put the spotlight once again on material that had already been released recently. Fans were delighted to see the TV spots for "Scream 7", the eagerly awaited return of Miranda Priestly in "The Devil Wears Prada 2" and the monumental biopic "Michael" about Michael Jackson.

Although these trailers could already be found online in the days leading up to the event, their presence during the Super Bowl once again underlines the enormous significance that these productions will have in the coming cinema year and completes the spectacular overall package of the night.
