Is Michael Bay making the "Skibidi Toilet" movie or not? There is currently a lot of confusion surrounding the "Transformers" director's project. Only recently, several media outlets reported that production had started. Bay himself, however, takes a different tone in an Instagram post.
The current situation
As early as 2024, the industry magazine Variety reported that a "Skibidi Toilet" film was in development – from Michael Bay and former Paramount Pictures president Adam Goodman. Recently, several media outlets such as Forbes, Entertainment Weekly and JoBlo reported the start of production – and also that Bay is still involved. Their source was a press release from the studio Invisible Narratives, which is to produce the film. So the situation seemed clear.

Michael Bay has now caused a lot of confusion with an Instagram post. In a video, he spoke of several film projects that he would be working on in the future. However, none of them bear the name "Skibidi".
So what about the "Skibidi Toilet" film? Bay's Instagram post could be seen as a clear rejection – or as a PR stunt. After all, the director had recently teased an upcoming project in other posts that were suspiciously reminiscent of "Skibidi Toilet". In one post in particular, attentive viewers can recognize a "Skibidi Toilet" lettering.
With his apparent refusal, he could therefore also simply want to generate more attention. The situation remains unclear for the time being. However, it does not seem unlikely that this could be a PR stunt – and that Michael Bay will ultimately make a "Skibidi Toilet" film after all.
What is Skibidi Toilet?
"Skibidi Toilet" is a viral internet series that became very popular in 2023. It was developed by YouTuber DaFuq!?Boom! and combines absurd animations with electronic music. The focus is on grotesque scenes of human heads protruding from toilets. They are in bizarre conflict with figures with surveillance cameras or loudspeakers for heads. The series is particularly popular with a young audience.
