After "The Walking Dead" author Robert Kirkman unexpectedly put the "The Walking Dead" comics on hold last year, there are again surprising news from the popular zombie franchise. As Variety reports, the main series will come to an end after the eleventh season, and at the same time become the longest season of the series with 24 episodes. However, fans don't have to completely give up the main characters of the series, as a spin-off with Daryl and Carol is planned. Scott M. Gimple will take over the production of the spin-off and showrunner Angela Kang is also back on board. The spinoff would be the fourth of its kind, after all, "Fear The Walking Dead" and "The Walking Dead: World Beyond" the new "Tales Of The Walking Dead"are also in the works. The latter is to become a kind of anthology, in which partly new and partly already existing characters will appear. If you still haven't had enough, you can also look forward to a film trilogy with Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes.

As you can see, "The Walking Dead" is far from dead with the end of the season and fans can look forward to more content in the future.
