In the past weeks, several new additions to the fifth "Scream" film have been announced. As Bloodydisgusting.com confirms, Neve Campbell, who plays the leading actress Sidney Prescott, is part of the cast for the fifth time. Since an Instagram post of the actress a few days ago, the assumption of many fans that Campbell will return to the set has been confirmed. But the Sidney actress is not the only familiar face. David Arquette as Sheriff Riley and Courteney Cox as a reporter are among those returning. Sheriff Riley is also supported by Deputy Judy Hicks, who will be played by Marley Shelton again. Fans can also look forward to a breath of fresh air in addition to the old stars, because according to the deadline there are still reinforcements from "The Boys" actors Jack Quaid, Melissa Barrera, Mason Gooding, Mikey Madison and Jenna Ortega. Fans of the Netflix series "Dead Girls Don't Lie" will also be pleased, because with Dylan Minnette, one of the main actors of the series will appear in a new role. You can already see that a lot has happened with the project planned for 2022. The exact plot of the movie is not yet known, but due to the death of director Wes Craven in 2015, a new team, consisting of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillet, will take over the production behind the camera. The expected release date of "Scream 5" is January 14, 2022, and shooting is scheduled to begin this fall.
