The film adaptation of the popular fantasy series "The Chronicles of Narnia" continues to take shape: As the industry magazine Deadline reports, none other than Daniel Craig is in talks for a role.

However, negotiations are still at an early stage – it is quite possible that Craig will decide against the offer. It also remains unclear what role the British actor could play in the film. But initial rumors point to a key role. Will he possibly provide the voice of the lion Aslan?

Another rumor revolves around the singer and actress Charli XCX, who is apparently being considered for the role of the White Witch. Again, there is no official information yet.

The reboot of "The Chronicles of Narnia" is part of Netflix's comprehensive strategy to revive the franchise in film and series form. The streaming giant had already announced in 2018 that it would develop several projects based on C.S. Lewis' world-famous book series. In 2020, Greta Gerwig, acclaimed director of "Lady Bird" and "Barbie", was then confirmed as creative director for the first film.

A total of no less than eight movies are said to be in the pipeline. Information on the cast is still under wraps. The first "Narnia" film is set to be released in cinemas on November 26, 2026 – even in IMAX format. The streaming release on Netflix will follow a month later. You can watch the previous "Narnia" movies on Disney+.
