Overview

200 years have passed since The Great War. Almost the entire population of the Earth has been wiped out. The remnants of humanity live in the perfect Unified State. Despite an authoritarian system of serial numbers, uniforms, glass houses, and scheduled sex, happiness and harmony reign in the society. An engineer named D-503 considers such a life ideal. He celebrates it by putting all his knowledge and talent into the construction of a super-powered spaceship. A chance meeting with a woman named I-330 completely reverses D-503's self-image. He discovers in himself the uncontrollable “ancient” impulses, feelings and passions. And he is yet to find out that there are those who do not like the existing world order and seek to destroy the last bastion of humanity on Earth - the Unified State…
