France, 18th century. The prestige of a noble house depends above all on the quality of its cuisine. At the start of the French Revolution, fine dining is still the exclusive privilege of the aristocracy. When the talented chef Manceron is dismissed by the Duke of Chamfort, he loses his passion for cooking. Back at his country home, his encounter with the mysterious Louise helps him get back on his feet. As they both harbor a desire for revenge against the duke, they decide to open the very first restaurant in France.
