Overview

WURZELN DES ÜBERLEBENS accompanies five innovative farmers who make use of and further develop the peasant knowledge of the last millennia, which has almost been forgotten in the course of agricultural industrialization. From the empathetic dairy farmer who has made it her mission never again to have to hear the pitiful cries of a calf separated from its mother, to the farmer who discovered the benefits of the earthworm for himself, to the "tomato emperor" who is creating a monument to biodiversity with his more than 3,000 different tomato varieties. Her plea: "We farmers must become more self-confident, no longer put up with everything from politics and science!"
