A Minecraft Movie Ratings & Reviews
- nayasask12February 16, 2025Even though it’s not out yet I’m rating it 5 stars because i love Minecraft.
- Jarhead14h agoIt is what it is. Pretty good acting and cgi seems to hold true to the game. I don't get the fascination with it but kids find it enjoyable and entertaining.

- Josh Zink1d agoIt is exactly what you should expect from a movie about Minecraft starring Jack Black in 2025. Pre-teens will love it; adults will probably find themselves checking the time about halfway through. Not bad for what it is, just don't expect it to be something it isn’t -- thought-provoking, emotionally compelling, or narratively deep.

- Nathan Magreta2d agoActually really good. It was silly fun, but it is entertaining and makes for a good watch, not to mention Jason momoa's show-stealing performance.
- tyrrellseApril 5, 2025A Minecraft Movie is an amazing movie and I saw this with my mom and this movie helped her understand the game a lot. And I wish I could rate this movie a bit more higher than just five stars there needs to be at least ten stars because this movie was just way to good.
- kmcn20044d agoA Minecraft Movie has probably killed off the potential for another film adaptation of the game — at least for a while. The quirky tone, random voice lines, and cutscenes all felt rushed and disjointed. Now in its own way, it tells the story well. However, this is yet another movie where fans don't want it to break apart from the main theme too much, and this does. Unfortunately, about 30 or so minutes in the film take place in the real world, not the actual Minecraft world. People want to see Minecraft. They don't need this "What if round humans were in the Minecraft world". They want to see the Steve that the fans all know and love. That said, I understand Minecraft has quite a difficult story to tell as there is no true story. It's open-world, you can decide to kill the Ender Dragon, or defeat the Wither etc. But that also gives the creative team more freedom, rather than choosing to make some random Piglin Queen the enemy. The movie I believe could have fared better, if it was animated in the style of Minecraft Story Mode. While the box-office haul was a major commercial success, possibly due to the "chicken jockey" trend, the critical reception did note that fans were not happy. I hope there is another movie or show in the future about the game, but hopefully they recognise the importance to still maintain the Minecraft feel, and realise fans wouldn't mind the film to be animated. Not everything has to be live-action.
