Better Man
Directed by Michael GraceyThis is an amazing story about one of the most famous pop artists of the nineties and 2000s. Robbie Williams is not just a talented singer, he is a charismatic and scandalous star who, in his youth, set himself the goal of breaking through and becoming famous throughout the world. The film tells how Robbie felt wild as a child, and to prove to everyone that he was capable of achieving a lot, he immersed himself in music.

- RyezooFebruary 4, 2025The singing monkey biopic made me shed some tears. Not something I was expecting. This is an awesome movie and a fresh spin on the biography film genre. I’ve never heard of Robbie Williams but I had a great time taking in the story. The cinematography, the editing, the musical numbers all were top notch. It’s a shame this movie bombed in the US, hopefully word of mouth helps this movie get more eyes on it. The best musical and musician biopic of 2024.
- djagg7d agoThe Lamest Showman (don’t worry I’m allowed to say it) Everything about this film feels so Fake with a capital F. The fact that this film was made, let alone admired, concerns me beyond belief It’s like Across The Universe but completely irredeemable It’s like it’s own SNL parody of…itself The whole “this shouldn’t work” point ppl are trying to make is dumb bc it doesn’t work so Fell asleep multiple times. Don’t worry I rewound to make sure I didn’t miss any of the crucial details and hard-hitting dialogue. (Biggest /s of my life) To go from this to a decent musical (Sinners) back to this was very upsetting. Gonna trust my gut and get out early next time smh Absolutely nothing new or unique other than the super obvious and massively stupid main feature (and a few overblown setpieces I didn’t care for either) The 2020’s have been abysmal for music biopics and we have to take this pathetic excuse for a monkey out back and shoot it in the brain ond end the misery for good. RIP Nate Cox Never once in this story did I care an ounce for this “man” or his story. Nothing new to say, nothing fun to see, nothing great to hear - just a real piece of shit! I would much like to never endure anything like this ever again! TL;DR : A 1* film halved by the most unoriginal, unnecessary, and unappealing CGI since The Lovely Bones
- MasterDB2205April 18, 2025Grandioser Film
- tonybl26April 12, 2025Amazing film which should have done loads better at the box office. Incredibly well filmed
- mitrailerApril 6, 2025Totally recommend this one. I've ever been a huge fan of Robbie, after watching this movie I'm starting to catch with the vibe of his songs. Best biopic of a monkey I've ever watched 🤪
- DreMarch 24, 2025Nice story telling. And use of a chimp as the main character without looking like a racist thing 😂
- jabroganApril 6, 2025A total miss. Unless you are a big fan of Robbie Williams and familiar with his rise, this film will be nothing more than a series of set pieces with a chimp snorting coke and shooting heroin in between unfamiliar songs. It took less than $20,000 in the US on its opening weekend!
- MisterArtVandaleyMarch 11, 2025Heart whelming and Inspiring . Stunning cinematography and beautiful visuals complement the story perfectly. The movie tells a powerful story of redemption, forgiveness, and personal growth, with outstanding performances from the cast. The film's themes of self-improvement and overcoming adversity are relatable and universal, making it a must-see for anyone looking for a movie that will resonate with them on a deeper level. Overall, Better Man is a fantastic film that will leave you feeling hopeful and inspired. Rating: 5/5 stars!
- SpanktacularMarch 8, 2025Visually unique, amazing choreography, unlikeable and arrogant main character and boring story. Reminded me of "The Dirt" because it's a biopic that made me hate the people it was about.
- SpoonsFebruary 10, 2025Better Man is a stunning, emotional ride. Seeing Robbie’s battles behind iconic performances I witnessed live hit hard. Tech fades into raw storytelling—it’s not just a biopic, it’s an artistic, heartbreaking must-watch. I’m still crying. 🎤💔
- Jacob ThompsonMarch 7, 2025An interesting biopic that represents the cost of fame and the struggles of battling the expectations of the world and depression
- ryan_b19March 5, 2025great movie
- cubanal74March 5, 2025I finally watched Better Man because, having been a fan of the British group Take That and having listened to a lot of Robbie Williams' solo stuff, I was intrigued and curious to see how his story was being told THIS time. I say THIS time because Robbie has told his story quite a few times in many different ways. There have been documentaries, books, and even a Netflix limited series, where he pretty much told his entire story. The only way left for him to tell this same story was the biggest way, which is by way of a biopic. So he did just that. But the people behind the film decided to do something different and unusual. Instead of casting an actor to play Robbie onscreen, they chose to have a CGI monkey do the honors. It was an interesting decision, one that I personally would not have made. The film itself is an honest depiction of the turbulent life of a famous pop star. Robbie's story is told pretty much without leaving much out. We see the good parts, the bad parts, and the REALLY bad parts. Overall, I think it was a well-told story. But, like I mentioned before, I would have gone the traditional biopic route and hired an actual actor who resembles Robbie enough to play him. But I did enjoy the movie. I knew what was happening during much of the movie having been a fan of all these guys, Robbie and his former band. I recommend it to any fan.
- David SweitzerMarch 3, 2025Got about half way through before i had to turn it off. What a annoying main character. Who even is this based off of??? Never heard of him friends never heard of him. Didn't recognize a single song during the film. The absolute worst part is the made him a monkey, why? How does this benefit the picture? I found it distracting and cgi dated, only served to worsen to experience and further seperate this "famous" person from reality. Like, get real. Nobody cares about your dumb story about how you got rich. Woopty doo. I thought the new joker was terrible and this bad boy swings right up there with it. Garbage.
- ScottJanuary 12, 2025It runs into the familiar problem with biopics where a person's life doesn't sit cleanly in a single arc for a short-form medium like film. So while it meanders a bit in the back half of the movie it also treats you to some of the visually wild musical numbers you'll see all year. As I understand it, this isn't a 100% accurate retelling of Williams' story. But with the (better) man himself as narrator it becomes an earnest conversation with himself and his past. And while my major complaint with biopics as a genre is that they're often more obsessed with the mythology of their subject, in this case his self-esteem and mental health issues are placed upfront in such a way that I think there was a treatment of this movie that could have been straight horror. Robbie Williams was more than willing to make himself raw and vulnerable and the result shines just as bright as the spotlight he threw himself into all those years ago.
