This is a rare show that satisfies both sides of my brain. There's a fair amount of action without trying to replicate a video game experience. There's also reflection and quiet moments. The actors are amazing and can speak volumes with a glance. There are some loose threads and some baffling bits of lore, but this is minimal.

I care about the characters. They're traumatized, but have a wry wit in a tough spot, and they make realistic choices. It doesn't feel like a horror movie so much as an existential search for meaning and human connection. Some of the action sequences and dialogue do feel a little bit like a video game, which is off putting, but more than made up for by the acting.

A masterpiece. The acting is spectacular, the set design is great. The characters are well fleshed-out.
