Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom: Amber Heard's Part Was Cut Short

Meanwhile, a return of Johnny Depp to "Pirates of the Caribbean" has not been ruled out

The civil court war between Amber Heard and Johnny Depp has been going on for a few weeks now and it still seems as if there is no other topic for many film fans. Now the 36-year-old Heard commented on her role in the upcoming "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom", because it was cut down very much due to Johnny Depp's allegations. She is said to have repeatedly received new and shorter versions of the script, and a crucial action scene was even entirely dropped from her part.

Moreover, she stated she had to fight very hard for her role in 2018's "Justice League", which was probably at the high point of her marital crisis with Johnny Depp. She also recently complained in court that many PR appearances and even her relationship with the L'Oréal company had been affected. Meanwhile, however, there is little sympathy for Heard even among movie fans who are not classic Johnny Depp groupies. After all, her ex-husband had to go through exactly the same thing, and it is unclear what will happen to the respective careers of the two.

For Johnny Depp, though, a comeback to "Pirates of the Caribbean" does not seem ruled out, at least according to producer Jerry Bruckheimer. There are two screenplays for Part 6, one with Margot Robbie and one without her. While at present Depp is not part of either script, a decision on this is to be made in the future. A surprising statement from Bruckheimer, after all, a renewed partnership between Disney and Depp is considered to be as good as impossible. The Jack Sparrow actor only recently claimed that he would not return to the franchise at any price. Perhaps at Disney they are still waiting for the outcome of the trial. It remains to be seen whether they can and will try to change Depp's mind. Nevertheless, we shouldn't get our hopes up too high.

One thing is at least in sight, and that is the end of the civil trial. This was originally scheduled to end on May 27 and is unlikely to take much longer. Surely a great day for YouTube recommendations, which are flooded with court case videos...
