An American Classic of New York's high-society during the Beaux-arts period. That iconoclastic changeover from the post-impressionist years to the turn-of-the-century. Tasteful. Poignant. Outstanding dialogue and wholly accurate periodicity for a film of this exemplary novella.

One of my all time favorite movies. The cast is impeccable. Michelle Pfeiffer is amazing in this period film.
