At last, Hayden Christensen has also been confirmed to play Darth Vader

In a recent statement, Lucasfilm and Disney announced that the "Obi-Wan Kenobi" series is about to start shooting. In the process, the official cast has now also been confirmed and so we finally know who will be standing in front of the camera together with Ewan McGregor. On the one hand, there is Hayden Christensen, who has long been rumored for the role of Anakin Skywalker or Darth Vader in the Disney+ series. With Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse, two actors from "Star Wars Episode II & III" are also returning, namely Owen and Beru Lars. This is particularly interesting because Luke hid out with them for a while and it's rumored that this specific time period plays an important role in the new series. This does make sense, as the series is set ten years after "Episode III" and nine years before the action of the first "Star Wars" film in 1977, and revolves around Obi-Wan's exile on the desert planet of Tatooine. But besides McGregor, Christensen, Edgerton and Piesse, there are other new additions that many may not have had on their radar. For instance, there is "Fast & Furious" actor Sung Kang, comedian Kumail Nanjiani and newcomer Moses Ingram, who was convincing in the Netflix series "The Queen's Gambit". Sadly, the concrete roles for the new cast members are not yet known and it is quite likely that some of the actors may only lend their voices to androids or aliens. Deborah Chow, who has already directed two episodes of "The Mandalorian", is responsible for the realization of the "Obi-Wan Kenobi" series. Other producers behind the camera include Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Ewan McGregor and screenwriter Joby Harold. If production of the six-part series goes well, we're optimistic about a release in early 2022.
